US Supreme Court Application Deadline
Monday, July 01, 2024, 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM EDT
Category: National

Women Owned Law has been granted admission, as a group, to the US Supreme Court on April 2, 2025. We will be accepting applications on a “first come” basis to a maximum of 12 people, with a waitlist to follow.

Although this admission is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of next year, initially, sign up HERE with WOL.

By July 1, 2024 you will need to submit a completed application for admission to practice – which includes a statement of 2 Sponsors, each of whom has already been admitted to the US Supreme Court; the application is HERE. Please note the Rules and Guidance of the Supreme Court of the United States HERE. Below is a bulleted summary.

Notes:

  • There are a few members of the NY & DC Region that are already admitted to the US Supreme Court, so let us know if you need a sponsor.
  • Additional specifics for the application:
  • The first page of the application should be filled out online, completed in its entirety, and printed.
  • Do not use “all caps”.
  • The second page may be filled out online and printed or handwritten (if legible).
  • All signatures must be original (wet) signatures from both sponsors and applicant on the same page.
  • Certificate and Oath of Admission sections must be complete.
  • Additional Important Information for Admission to the US Supreme Court is available HERE.
  • Continued membership in, and commitment to, WOL through 2025.
  • Fee of $200 (non-refundable and payable to WOL for ease of submission to the Supreme Court).
  • Good Standing Certificate from the applicant’s state supreme court or highest court – not a certificate from the state bar association or federal court – and only 1 certificate is required.

WOL will also be coordinating additional events and a 1 or 2 night hotel stay in Washington DC and Georgetown around the admission. Additional information will be forthcoming for members of WOL to join us in Washington DC even if you’re not being admitted. If we’re lucky, perhaps the cherry blossoms will be in bloom as well!
