Dr. Karen Lawson, executive coach, international s peaker, consultant, and author, is president of Lawson Consulting Group, In c., a consulting firm specializing in leadership development. She has exten sive consulting and seminar experience in the areas of management, team dev elopment, communications, and quality service across a wide range of indust ries including financial services, pharmaceutical, health care, law, and no nprofit organizations.
Karen is the author of 15 books on the subjects of leadership, coaching, training, speaking, and career man agement. She has also written chapters for 15 different professional collec tions in addition to numerous articles in professional journals and an op-e d piece in the Philadelphia Inquirer. She has been quoted in Forbes, Fast C ompany, and the Wall Street Journal.
She holds a PhD in Adult and Organization Development from Temple University; an MA in Englis h from the University of Akron; and a BA from Mount Union College. She is a lso a graduate of the National School of Banking in Fairfield, CT. She is o ne of only 400 people worldwide to have earned the Certified Speaking Profe ssional designation from the 4,000-member National Speakers Association. Sh e has received numerous awards for her outstanding contribution to the trai ning and speaking professions and was also named one of Pennsylvania’s "Bes t 50 Women in Business" as well as one of the Philadelphia Business Journal ’s “Women of Distinction.”
Karen is currently an adjunc t professor at DeSales University and Arcadia University in their MBA progr ams and has served on the adjunct faculty for the University of Delaware, S aint Joseph’s University, Villanova University, Cabrini College, and Roches ter Institute of Technology at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. In addition, she conducts on-line programs for the United Nations System St aff College. She has presented at several professional conferences in the U nited States, Asia, and Europe.
