Women Owned Law Virtual Speaker Series

Why won’t my story run? Why don’t reporters call me back? How does the news decide what to cover anyway? And why do they only call when something bad happens?

Living in a 24-second soundbite, let alone 24-hour, news world seemingly provides plenty of opportunities to get coverage for you or your clients. However, not all stories are created equal. So how do you break through the clutter and become a “go to” for the news media; how do you land that compelling story in the news? And – occasionally – how do I keep my client out of the news? These questions surface daily, but are often answered haphazardly without a well-thought out strategy.

Together, we’ll go inside the walls of a typical newsroom to learn how reporters, editors and producers think. We’ll uncover the nuts and bolts of building trusted relationships with the media so that you increase your chances of landing that great story.
